architecture and art for public places
Luka Murovec is a Slovenian-born spatial practitioner based in Berlin, working at the intersection of architecture and art. His collaborative practice explores the layered histories of sites, weaving together social, material, and environmental narratives through spatial interventions.
Grounded in experimental architectural strategies and sculptural forms, his work challenges conventions of the built environment, fostering dialogue and critical reflection. His projects reimagine space through radical, forward-thinking design approaches.
Murovec’s work, both solo and collaborative, has been presented at major international exhibitions and institutions, including Documenta fifteen (2022), the Venice Architecture and Art Biennale (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025), Ars Electronica (2024), Centre Pompidou Paris (2023), Kings Cross London (2023), CTM Festival Berlin (2019–2023), Brooklyn Public Library (2020), and Storefront for Art and Architecture (2018).
He studied architecture at the Institute of Contemporary Art at TU Graz and TU Berlin. Since 2014, he has been a collaborator with the experimental architecture collective raumlaborberlin, which was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2021.
