THE CITY OF NOW
luka murovec
Synopsis - Cities are in a state of constant change, readapting to particular needs, transforming spatially as well as socio-culturally. This work investigates different appropriations of the urban space and questions their impact on the ever-lasting processes of urban transformation. Street art and squatting promote the right to the city for all urban dwellers and state that cities are firstly owned by it’s citizens. Such engagements with the urban setting are often illicit and ephemeral but manage to push boundaries and create new and lasting relationships between society and architecture.
