The Blue Park is a continuation of raumlabor’s public sauna and pool project from 2014/2015, transforming part of Frihamnen into a public waterside landscape for bathing, gathering, and everyday use. The original sauna structure has been refurbished for long-term public use, while new amenity buildings, wooden decks, paths, and planted wetlands extend the project into the harbour.

Rather than treating the waterfront as a hard edge, the project creates a sequence of spaces between land and water. Visitors move through reeds, timber walkways, terraces, changing areas, and bathing points, entering a former industrial harbour that has been reworked as a civic and recreational landscape.

The new floating bathing platform is designed as a collage of the existing pool and a series of new platforms, access points, and bathing facilities. Together, they form an open public infrastructure for swimming, sauna, resting, meeting, and spending time by the water.
